At home I have an XP Media Center PC, running ORB, all I need is an open access point and I watch TV. I have found them all over the place, from airports, and doctors offices, to the car shop and a night club. Being able to watch the game, or just pass the time while waiting, we are almost there. Also, won't Sprint offer a monthly fee for internet access? Probably will be a lot higher than typical DSL, but useful if you're on the road all the time and away from WiFi. - by EV-DV Here's Concrete Info On TD-CDMA (9:22pm EST Thu Jan 19 2006) There's no need to simply speculate about UMTS TDD (also know as TD-CDMA, but NOT TD-SCDMA which IS a Chinese variant to avoid paying royalties. ) You don't need to speculate because this technology is real, and is being used by commercial carriers in many locations around the globe, such as T-Mobile in the Czech republic. If you're more into reading English than Czech, have a look at They offer wireless broadband service using UMTS TDD, and prices start at NZ$30 (US$20) per month. Sound like vaporware? Nope. Sprint-Nextel is no doubt looking at these examples, and interested in a technology that works well today. Woosh also offers VoIP telephone service over the wireless network. Slower than DSL and what TD-CDMA has sometimes promised, but not bad for on-the-road, especially at only $20/month. They'll definitely charge more than that in the US. - by EV-DV
