Centrica is already developing new technologies and products, like their leading connected home product Hive. Data science, smart devices and innovative business models will enable Centrica to become closer to customers in an enhanced partner role. Over the past four years, Centrica Innovations has supported over 25 enterprises and committed £9m of investment to 14 startups. Together, they have offered products and services benefiting more than 25,000 people across the UK. As part of the Active Ageing Challenge Centrica are looking for startups who could provide solutions in key areas including; providing care through smart home technology, achieving a seamless customer experience, and transforming care services. Startups have until 5th February 2018 to submit their applications and selected startups will then be asked to pitch to a team of industry experts in March (2018). As well as a share of the prize fund, winners could also receive the opportunity to access mentorship, valuable networking opportunities and the potential to partner with Centrica.
